Upgrading Our Equipment to Meet Demand

Upgrading our equipment to meet demand

DLK Fertilizers started with liquid fertilizers, but as we introduced powdered products and new formulas, demand quickly outpaced our equipment capacity. To stay ahead, we invested in two new mixers and reworked our production line to handle a wider range of formulations without slowing down turnaround times.

Outgrowing our original setup

Our first mixing equipment was built around a single product line. As our catalog grew to include soil boosters, bloom enhancers, and detox solutions, each with its own viscosity, mixing time, and ingredient handling needs, it became clear that the original setup was becoming a bottleneck rather than a solution.

Choosing equipment built for variety

Rather than simply adding more of the same machinery, we looked for mixers that could handle both our liquid and powdered lines without lengthy changeovers between batches. That flexibility was the priority — we needed equipment that could keep pace with a growing product list, not just a higher volume of the same product.

The transition wasn't instant. We ran the new mixers alongside our existing line for a period, validating batch consistency before fully shifting production over. That overlap gave our team time to adjust processes and catch any issues early, rather than discovering them after the old equipment was already gone.

Looking ahead

With the upgraded line in place, we're now better positioned to introduce new formulas without the production strain that used to come with it. As demand continues to grow, we expect this won't be the last upgrade we make — but it's a solid foundation for what's next.
